NYC Family Photographer | My Morning With The Morley's

I've worked with Marisol in the past and was thrilled when she asked me to photograph newly born, Julia!  Wanting the photographs to feel calm and natural we decided to shoot in their home utilizing the beautiful window light that fills their apartment in the Upper East Side. We both felt it was important for the images to emulate a casual morning at home rather than a posed studio shoot.

When arriving to the Morley's home I was greeted by their two adorable puppies, Emma & Tiffany; who of course, were included in their photographs.  We scheduled two hours for our session together allowing Marisol and Julia to take the time they needed without feeling rushed. Continuing to keep an organic feeling throughout their shoot there was very little posing allowing us to document more authentic moments shared between the Morley's in their home.

Brooklyn Family Photographer | Morning Portrait Session With Kesh And Jolie

Kesh had no interest being photographed with his mother. After some negotiating, we agreed after their portrait session he could take any picture he wanted. Our shoot ended and Kesh disappeared into his room returning with his robot mask. He announced he was ready for his photograph and sat indian style on the bed while I kept my end of the deal.

NYC Family Photographer | Playful Afternoon With The Hoorazar- McCumber Family

I spent last weekend documenting the sweetest family in Long Island City. Our session began inside the Hoorazar- McCumbers apartment which over looks the east river with beautiful views of NYC. I'm not sure what to make of this crazy February weather, but because its been particularly warm we jumped at the opportunity to continue our session outside!

The view from the Long Island City waterfront is brilliant! I'm a little embarrassed to admit, after living in NYC for 9 years it was my first time exploring the area.  The giant vintage Pepsi Cola sign and leftover snow from the storm a few days prior to our shoot made for the perfect backdrop, even though I slipped on the slush a few times. I'm so happy to have met and worked with the Hoorazar- McCumber family. Their lighthearted and playful personalities definitely came through during our session together which is what I strive for when documenting others.
